Hello,
Last November I quit my job in the US and left the country as well. Two days ago, I received an email saying my 485 is approved, and card production was ordered. The card will go to an address in the US where someone can forward me the mail.
What should I do? Try to enter the U.S. with the card? What to say to POE officials? WIll I be questioned?

this is a Q for my Friend
He was working at Lehman before the company filed for chapter 11
... He has been told that salary will be paid for 3 months
Right now he is at home and looking for other offers and no H1b transfer has been started
Question is ... Is he OK ( in status ) currently or a H1b transfer has to be done ASAP

I just checked that Nebraska is now processing cases from August 2007 for I 140 applications. Do these also indicate China and India?
My pd for I 140 is in July, and I am from india. Should I be able to make a query since the dates have gone past my PD?

When the news broke about PDs becoming current, I told 2 of my friends and my family that there is something wrong going on.
It is a common sense that the visa numbers are governed by policies and should be approved by senators in parliament if not by the president.
There were no indications in senate sessions nor announcement of any political intervention at the highest level to turn the table all together.
DOL and USCIS have all excuses to wash their hands of the issue now.
We should learn to forget what has happened to prepare ourselves to move on and on and on ....
Unless there happens a miracle like in fairy tales, we never know, all depends on our karma and not worthwhile to blame anybody on this.

I was thinking that I can get the F1 > Opt > H1 > File 485 thru EB2 Since my spouse's 485 is stuck in mud with priority dated 2003 EB3 category. So, I was wondering that can I have file my own 485 EB2 parallel to my spouse EB3. I would really appreciate if you could provide guidence or alternative approach. Well its just wasting GC numbers as this person is leaving US anyways, why GC???

That is the BEAUTY of Green Card.
1. Most of them do not want to stay here, because they don't like something here....
2. They want to stay back there...
3. They don't like things back there...
4. They need an option to come to US anytime in future... (They worked half of their life to aquire this option)
So from 1 and 3, it is obvious that they don't like to stay in East End or in West End. They can not go to North End (freezing to death) or South End (No place attracting).
It all says that "They don't like the WORLD".
So, a slight change in your title "Just a LIFE gone waste".
God must be crazy and not doing QA after producing these humans.

Need advise - bumping this up...
Many of you must have filed for their AP - can you please share with me what is the best and the safest way to get my application to USCIS?
I was looking for some tracking to know the app got delivered and do it overnight so it gets there in a day.
Wasn't sure if UPS/fed-ex delivers to PO box addresses or should I just stick to USPS?
Also, whether some kind of delivery tracking can be done on PO box addresses?
Please advise folks... Thanks in advance for your help!

I received a "Card Production Ordered" email from USCIS couple of days back. Waiting for the actual cards.
Did you had to go for an interview or another fingerprinting before you got the welcome email ?

Hi everyone,
Today i got an alert form USCIS that the pending 485s (for my wife and myself) have been transferred from NSC to TSC. Wanted to see if others with 485s pending at NSC have seen similar action.
My priority date is Oct 2005 and my 485 has been pending at NSC since July 2007.
Did you move to a different state after filing at NSC ??

To answer your questions, yes they interviewed me and my wife together. Attorney is not critical, our attorney did not accompany us - one reason id because he is in Atlanta whole I'm in NJ. Yes he can approve and stamp your passport right then if everything goes fine. Our PD was not current back then so he said he could not do it.
But in our case even though he said our applications were through and should get our GC as soon as it becomes current I had to wait for 4 months to get GC after it became current and after contacting every possible office. But that was my luck :rolleyes:

Thanks for the reply. But like I mentioned, this case was approved on 5/8/2008 and the approval notice was sent on 5/8/2008 and received on 5/14/2008. Between 5/8/2008 and 5/22/2008 the status was "approved, approval notice sent".
Afterwards since 5/22/2008 the online status became "new documents sent on 5/22/2008, you should receive it within 30 days". I do not think this "new document" is the approval notice coz I even received it before they sent. Just curious what could this "New document" be. Would it change the status of my I-140 (like revoke or withdraw or RFE)?

When I asked my lawyer, he told me that it ususally means that the employer has received a copy of the approval as well. If you are out of status you may have to go India to get Visa. Canada and Mexico may not give Visa You were out of status for couple of months. So it should not be an issue in getting Visa

i was wonderign if anyoenhas done it? and what are the risk factors in changing from non rir to rir?
My pd is oct2002? nothign heard after teh 45 day letter....

There is no -ve impact on coverting to RIR. If RIR is denied, you will still be processed as TR. You wont loose your PD
